Use Giv-able with your AI assistant

Connect Giv-able to Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or Grok, then just ask. Add things to your wishlist, save your sizes, jot down what a friend loves, and get gift ideas from what they share.

What you need

The connector address is https://giv-able.com/api/mcp. The quickest way to connect is from the Giv-able app: Settings > Connected AI apps, then tap your AI app.

Connect it

Claude

Open Claude's Add connector screen. Giv-able is already filled in. Tap Continue, sign in to Giv-able and tap Allow. Or, in Claude: Settings > Connectors > Add custom connector, and paste the address above.

ChatGPT

In ChatGPT on the web: Settings > Apps & Connectors > Advanced, turn on Developer mode. Then tap Create, paste the address above, sign in to Giv-able and tap Allow.

Gemini

Use Gemini in a web browser (not the Gemini app): Settings > Personal Intelligence > Connected Apps > Add a custom app. Paste the address, tap Next, sign in to Giv-able and tap Allow. This needs a personal Google account with Keep Activity turned on.

Grok

At grok.com, open Connectors, add a custom connector, paste the address, sign in to Giv-able and tap Allow.

On the Giv-able screen you choose what the AI app may do. Reading friends for gift ideas is a separate checkbox, and you can leave it off.

Things to try

What it can do

The AI app only acts on the Giv-able account you signed in with. It can read and add, but it cannot delete or rename anything. Do that in the Giv-able app.

ReadYour profile, wishlists, sizes and gift type; your kids' profiles and wishlists; the names of your friends and kids.
AddWishlist items (yours or a kid's), new wishlists, profile details, gift ideas for a friend, and private notes about a friend that only you see.
UpdateYour gift type, and sizes and style likes for you, a kid, or your own note on a friend. Most AI apps check with you before changing these.
ProRead what a friend has chosen to share with you (the same things you see in the app), and get Giv-able's AI gift ideas for them.

Limits keep things safe: up to 100 wishlist items and 300 other changes a day, 300 friend reads a day, and 20 gift idea requests a day.

Privacy

Nothing is shared until you tap Allow. Friends' information is only what they already share with you in Giv-able. Giv-able never sees your conversations with the AI app. What the AI app reads is handled under that company's privacy policy. Details are in our Privacy Policy.

To disconnect: in Giv-able, open Settings > Connected AI apps and tap Disconnect. Access stops right away. You can also remove Giv-able from the AI app's connector settings.

Troubleshooting

It says my Giv-able account isn't set up yet

Open the Giv-able app once (phone or web) so your account finishes setting up, then try again.

It says reading friends is part of Giv-able Pro

Friend profiles and AI gift ideas need Givable Pro. Upgrade in the Giv-able app, then ask again. Everything else works on the free plan.

It says this connection doesn't have permission

You left a permission unchecked when you connected. Remove Giv-able from the AI app, connect again, and tick the permission you need.

The sign-in screen says "Unverified app"

Giv-able shows this when the AI app's sign-in address isn't one we recognize. Only continue if you started the connection yourself. These connections can add to your account but can't read friends.

I signed up with Apple on my iPhone

Apple sign-in isn't available on the connect screen yet. Email us and we'll help you connect.

It says to slow down

You hit a daily or hourly limit. Wait a little while, or until tomorrow, and try again.

Something else went wrong

Disconnect in Settings > Connected AI apps, remove Giv-able from the AI app, and connect again. Still stuck? Email Giv-able@giv-able.com.
