Welcome to Giv-able ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and website (collectively, the "App"). Important Note: Giv-able is a personal organization tool designed to help you organize your own thoughts, preferences, and information. Any gift ideas, wishlists, or preferences in the App are user-generated for organizational purposes only. We do not provide purchasing advice, and all purchasing decisions are the sole responsibility of the individual making them. See our Terms of Service for complete details.

4. Information Sharing and Disclosure

With Other Users: Your profile information is shared with users you connect with as friends. Your share code allows others to find and connect with you. You control what information you add to your profile.

We Do NOT Sell Your Data: We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.

Service Providers: We may share data with trusted third-party service providers who assist in operating our App (e.g., Google Cloud for data storage), subject to strict confidentiality obligations. These providers only access your data to perform services on our behalf.

Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., court order, subpoena). We may also disclose information to: (a) protect our rights, privacy, safety, or property; (b) enforce our Terms of Service; (c) protect against legal liability; or (d) protect the safety of users or the public.

Business Transfers: If Giv-able is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any change in ownership or uses of your personal information.

Aggregated/Anonymized Data: We may share aggregated or anonymized data that cannot reasonably be used to identify you.

5. Data Storage and Security

Storage: Your data is stored using Google Cloud services located in the United States. Data is also stored locally on your device using browser local storage.

No Absolute Security: Despite our efforts, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data. You are responsible for maintaining the secrecy of your password and account information.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. We may also retain data as necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

We use local storage (similar to cookies) to store your preferences and session data on your device. We do not currently use third-party analytics or advertising cookies. If this changes, we will update this policy and provide appropriate notice and choices.

11. Third-Party Links and Services

The App may contain links to third-party websites, services, or content (e.g., wishlist links, external retailers). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to read their privacy policies before providing any personal information.

12. Children's Privacy

Giv-able is not intended for children under 13 years of age (or 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under these ages. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at Giv-able@giv-able.com. If we discover we have collected information from a child under the applicable age, we will delete it promptly.

13. Do Not Track Signals

Some browsers have a "Do Not Track" feature that signals to websites that you do not want to have your online activity tracked. The App does not currently respond to Do Not Track signals, as there is no industry standard for how to respond to such signals.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. We will notify you of any material changes by: (a) posting the updated policy in the App; (b) updating the "Last Updated" date; and (c) for significant changes, providing additional notice (e.g., in-app notification). Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
